Ron lived an active full life working full time for over 33 years for Western Electric. He built a small block cabin on a lake with his father-in-law, taught his children how to swim, water ski, ice skate, drive a boat, and drive a car. He shared with friends and family his whole life. He came from a large family and the family was everything to him, his parents, his siblings, his wife, his kids and their kids throughout the years. He helped them all.
He carried kids to and from volleyball games, supervised school yards, ran errands when someone needed him. He was there. He liked a good joke, smiled often, and had a devilish twinkle in his eye from time to time. Life wasn’t always easy for him and he had his share of trials and tribulations but he never gave up and he never let anyone around him give up either. He was the oldest in a large Polish family and he took that very seriously.
Ron was proud of his Polish heritage, loved Polish music and the Polish Home. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus. He lived his faith. He didn’t just show up when asked but often volunteered and was there when needed. He worked hard for his family and community. He could be a stubborn man at times, but he was a kind man with smiling eyes and often laughed. He was loved and will live in our hearts.
Ronald was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Mary Ann Micek; parents Creighton J. and Sophie M. Micek; sister Eileen M. Micek and brother Creighton J. Micek, Jr.
He is survived by his children Rita (Randy) Jacobson, Theresa (Mike) Hinchey, Ann Frame and Bill (Sharon) Micek; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; siblings Joyce Olsen, Kenneth (Mary) Micek, Mary Ann Nutsch, Gary Micek, Joseph (Gail) Micek, Linda (Doug) Sandquist, Kathleen Micek, and Thomas (Deb) Micek.
