Sam McDade, 76, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 25th, 2018.
Sam was born November 16th, 1941 in Belzoni, Mississippi to John and Patience McDade.
He attended McNair High School in Belzoni and continued his education at Valley State College before joining the Air Force.He served for four years.
He married the love of his life Lee Esther Newton on March 30th, 1967, and the two remained married for 51 years until his passing.
Sam began working for the United Parcel Service (UPS) in 1967 as a plant engineer.He retired from the company after 30 years of employment.
He was a long time and faithful member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church.He served as trustee for more than 20 years.But his love was serving as a gatekeeper for the church.He was an usher for 41 years.He also served as President of the City Union Ushers for eight years.
Sam enjoyed his church, traveling and woodwork.But for those who knew him best, you know his pride and joy was his family.
He is survived by his wife: Lee Esther McDade of Omaha; his children Yolanda McDade, Christopher McDade (Brenda), Christian Todd McDade (Serese) and his grandchildren Alexxis McDade, Tyler McDade and Jordan McDade.He also leaves behind his brothers; John McDade, T.C. McDade (Barbara), Luther McDade, Henry McDade (Gwen), and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and his dear friend Oscar Scott.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents John and Patience McDade, Ethel McDade, Calvin McDade, Roosevelt McDade, Reuben McDade, Florence Cain McDade and Hattie Howard McDade.
