Shirley F. Jenkins

December 26, 1940 — June 13, 2021

Shirley F. Jenkins age 80, born December, 26th, 1940, passed away in her hometown of Omaha, NE, on Sunday, June 13th, 2021.

Shirley is remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was a kind, thoughtful, and generous woman. She had a way of making those around her feel loved.

Shirley had a love of fishing, card games, and storytelling. She was always ready for an adventure. Although her contagious smile and generous spirit will be missed, we can be comforted knowing she is finally reunited with her husband.

Shirley was a long-time member of Calvary Lighthouse Church, where she attended church regularly, for many years. We believe she has returned to her maker and we will meet her again one day.

Shirley had an amazing work ethic and took great pride in her work as an underwriter, prior to retiring from Continental General Insurance.

Shirley is survived by her brother, Roy (Sherry); brother, Bob (Barbara); son, Kent (Stephanie); son, Edward; daughter in law, Sandra; grandchildren, Kenneth, Christine, Ryan, Jordan, Katelyn, Allie, Brianna, Sydney, and Leah; multiple great-grandchildren; other family and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Jenkins; her mother, Louisa T. Templeton; her brother, Ronnie Templeton; her son, Kenneth D. Jenkins.

Services will be planned by the family at a later date.

If you would like to memorialize Shirley Jenkins, please consider a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Nebraska, in her memory.
