Stephen Williams

September 20, 1945 — January 3, 2021

Stephen Francis Williams was born on September 20, 1945 to Harry and Catherine (nee Douse) Williams. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was born and grew up in Hannibal, Missouri then joined the Air Force shortly after graduating high school; serving 8 years.

Steve married Mary Beaman on June 26, 1971 and the couple moved to Papillion, Nebraska to live and raise his family. He worked as a salesman in tobacco and candy wholesale for over 30 years. Steve passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.

Steve enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandchildren, and golfing with his friends and family; but he LOVED coaching. Steve coached youth basketball, baseball, and fastpitch softball for years in Papillion. He took pride in the development, success, and positive experience of all his players regardless of their ability or background.

Steve is survived by his wife Mary; children Cris (Jen) Williams, Ben (Libby) Williams, and Sarah (Blaine) Williams-Sheppard; grandchildren Jeff, Jonny, Rachel, Madeleine, Alicia, Ayla, Elsa, Celia, and Christina; sisters Barbara (John) Murphy, Judy Williams, and Carol Williams; brothers-in-law Mike (Linda) Beaman and Gary Beaman; sister-in-law Becky Groh; 14 nieces and nephews.
