Terry was born in Augsburg, Germany to Gerald and Mary (Cleary) O'Neill on May 19th, 1955.He was the middle of three children, with an older brother, Lawrence, and younger sister, Mary.He grew up in Omaha, NE, graduating from Rummel High School in 1974 and attending Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church throughout his youth.Following graduation, Terry chose to serve his country in the Navy for six years.He then returned to Omaha to work at the VA Hospital until his retirement on January 3, 2013.

Terry met Debra (Schmidt) in Omaha and was married on August 27, 1983.Thirty-two years of marriage brought them three children; Ashley, Bryan, and Tami.Terry was a devoted father, attending all of his children's activities and enjoying annual family vacations. He raised his children within the Ralston United Church of Christ, where he was a very active member.Terry taught Sunday School, led the Youth Group, participated in the Men's Group, and was a Confirmation mentor.As a faithful Husker fan, Terry enjoyed attending husker games with family members, including the Capital One Bowl game in Florida with his wife, given as a retirement gift from his coworkers.

Terry leaves behind his children, daughter, Ashley O'Neill of Papillion, NE; son, Bryan O'Neill and Carissa Caudillo with granddaughter, Estella of Omaha, NE; and daughter, Tami O'Neill with granddaughter, Emery of LaVista, NE; his brother, Lawrence and Ann O'Neill of Columbus, NE; sister, Mary and Steve Howard of Omaha, NE; and several nieces and nephews.Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Mary (Cleary) O'Neill, as well as grandparents, uncles, and aunts.While the last years of Terry's life were spent battling physical and mental health needs, he will be remembered by the many years of love and laughter that he brought to his family and all he met.
