Walt was a member of the Freemasons, achieving the rank of Master Mason, and becoming a member of the Tangier Shrine, Fremont Club, where he achieved the elected rank of Potentate.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane, of Salt Lake City, UT; his children Doug Dimmitt, and wife Kathy, of Cypress, TX, Mark Dimmitt, and wife Jennifer, of Marshall, TX, and Matt Dimmitt, of Salt Lake City, UT; his grandchildren, Nathan & Drew Dimmitt and Taylor & Jack Dimmitt; his sister, Cheryl Abusheery, and husband John, of Plymouth, Massachusetts; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Pamela Jean Dimmitt.
