Yvonne Katherine Aulner

August 26, 1936 — April 1, 2025

Omaha

It is with spirits humbled before God that we announce the passing of Yvonne Aulner. She departed this life surrounded by family in her home on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 88. Born on August 26, 1936, Yvonne was the youngest of four siblings and blessed with a rich, purposeful life. Yvonne shared 71 beautiful years with her beloved husband, Albert Aulner Sr., together building a family rooted in God, faith, and love. They were blessed with 11 children—four daughters and seven sons—along with 44 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished and loved selflessly. Despite modest means, Yvonne stretched their resources with remarkable care, ensuring everything was “just right” for her children. Her weathered hands and feet revealed a life of sacrifice and devotion to those she loved and the beliefs she held dear. She tended gardens to provide healthy food, preserved it through canning, sewed, cleaned homes, tirelessly defended the unborn–the list is endless. Her husband, children, grandchildren and the babies she championed were her greatest earthly treasures.

Yvonne’s profound love for God, devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary, and warrior-like prayer spirit inspired all who knew her. Yvonne’s final chapter began on Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent—a symbolic desert journey that became her last and greatest lesson. She faced suffering with grace and dignity, lifting her imperfections, joys, and pains to God in humble surrender, accepting His will with courage. Some of her final words—“I love Jesus, I love Mary, I love my family; I am so blessed”—reflect a life of unwavering faith and gratitude Yvonne would be the first to say she was “anything but perfect,” candidly embracing her “buffet of issues” with a sincerity that defined her. Yet it’s this raw, beautiful essence of who she was that we’ll forever cherish. She’ll always be remembered for her childlike spirit and innocence, which radiated through her love for life’s simple joys—playing games, assembling puzzles, coloring pictures, and playing with her grandkids. That same boundless, adventurous energy drove her love for travel and thrill-seeking activities—fishing, snorkeling, stock car racing, riding roller coasters and airplanes. Yvonne also had a gift for listening, always placing others’ needs before her own and serving with a selfless heart. She possessed an extraordinary ability to make anyone feel uniquely seen and valued. Walking into her and Albert’s home felt like stepping into a warm embrace, a sensation renewed with every visit. With Yvonne, you were always certain of your place—loved and accepted, no matter the circumstances. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, joy, and unconditional love that will live on in us forever. Her deep faith in God was a quiet yet powerful force, gently guiding and inspiring all of us in our own spiritual journeys.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents Vedor and Leona Ockander
