Passed away at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born June 11, 1936 to the late Chester and A. Lucile (Crumley) Saum. Barbara graduated from Amanda High School class of 1954 and Otterbein College in 1958. She obtained her teaching credentials from New Mexico State University. Relocating to Omaha, she taught chemistry primarily at Omaha South High School for 36 years before retiring in 1999. She loved to return to the family farm in Ohio to spend time with her family. Working with her flowers and in her yard were her favorite pastimes. Barbara is survived by her brother Paul (Lois)Saum; nephews David (Robin) Saum, Doug (Amber) Saum; niece Julie (Hector) Feliciano; great nieces and nephews Brandy, Nate, Zac, Chet, Jordan, Eli, and Hannah,; great-great niece Gracyn; along with an aunt and numerous cousins. Barbara leaves behind many, many special friends in Omaha. Visitation Friday, March 7th, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Bethany Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Amanda Township Cemetery, Amanda, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested memorials be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105) or the Amanda Clearcreek Alumni Association Endowment Fund (PO Box 275, Amanda, OH, 43102)
