Richard Luth, Sr., age 77, of Omaha, NE passed away on August 18, 2022 after a courageous battle against leukemia. He was born July 21, 1945 on a farm near Ravenna, NE to the late Johnnie and Rosette Luth. He graduated from Ravenna High School in 1963. He served in the Marines from 1965 to 1967 during the Vietnam War. After completing his military service, he began working for Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, NE. He worked for UPRR for the next 42 years and proudly retired in 2009. Over the years, he enjoyed hunting with family and friends, backpacking, outdoor photography, singing in the mens choir at church, traveling and attending shows at the Holland Center with his wife, collecting toy tractors, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He was an active member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church for nearly 50 years. In his retirement, he join the Elkhorn Valley Antique Power Association where he worked with farm equipment from his youth. He was also active with several veterans groups, including the Marine Corps League, The Vietnam Veterans of America, and the American Legion. Richard was Preceded in death by his parents Johnnie and Rosette Luth and brother Dennis Luth. He is survived by his loving wife Linda Luth; daughter Melissa Steinle; son Richard (Leah) Luth, Jr.; grandchildren Bennett, Audrey, Johanna; siblings Melba (Chuck) Stafford, Pete (Cindy) Luth, Bryce (Vickie) Luth and Celia Luth; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Memorial have been directed by the family to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church or the Vietnam Veteran's of America Marine Corps. League.
